Home Golf Bay Planning Checklist ================================ A room-first checklist that walks a buyer from tape measure to finished bay before any five figure order is placed. [ ] Measure ceiling height from the finished floor to the lowest obstruction (beam, duct, light, fan or sprinkler head), not to the drywall [ ] Measure the usable depth along the hitting line and the usable width across it, then enter all three dimensions in the Room Fit Checker [ ] Hold a driver at the top of your backswing inside the room and record how far the clubhead rises above your head [ ] Note every door swing, window, support column and garage door track that crosses the footprint of the bay [ ] Decide whether left-handed golfers or guests will use the bay, and plan a centered hitting position if so [ ] Check the floor for level, moisture and seasonal temperature swings, especially in a garage or basement [ ] Choose between a camera based and a radar based launch monitor with your room depth and lighting in mind [ ] Confirm in writing the ball-to-screen distance the launch monitor requires and any open floor it needs behind the golfer [ ] Ask which shot data the software shows at your tier and which metrics sit behind a paid upgrade [ ] Match the impact screen size and aspect ratio to the enclosure and to your ceiling height [ ] Confirm the projector throw ratio places the lens ahead of the ball using the Projector Throw Calculator [ ] Plan a projector mounting point that clears the swing arc, the enclosure frame and any ceiling obstruction [ ] Decide where the computer, monitor and keyboard will sit so nobody crosses the sensor view or the projector beam [ ] Write down an all-in budget that includes hardware, delivery, installation, software subscriptions and a contingency [ ] Ask every seller for a written quote that separates hardware, delivery, installation and recurring fees [ ] Confirm return windows, warranty terms and who handles calibration support before paying a deposit [ ] Plan soundproofing or at least an impact dampening layer if the bay shares a wall or floor with living space [ ] Check that the room's electrical circuit can carry the projector, computer and lighting without tripping [ ] Plan lighting that keeps the screen dark enough for the projector while the ball stays clearly visible to the sensor [ ] Add climate control or a dehumidifier if the space is not already conditioned year round [ ] Set aside a small annual reserve for screen, mat and lamp replacements plus software renewals [ ] Write the first monthly inspection date for the mat, screen and projector filter on the calendar before the bay is finished
